I'm curious if anyone runs EVE/bot through VMWare, as my attempts to get EVE to work in a VM environment have ended in colossal UI lag to a degree of complete and utter failure to be able to do anything. If anyone has thoughts, or a working setup, I would be greatly interested in the details thereof.
Currently running VMWare 9.0.2 using a win7 tiny install, host computer is i7-3930k cpu, 32g ram, gtx 690, win7 64bit OS.

the key is to use the VMware ver 7, its not CPU or ram that's a problem its the way VMware uses hardware acceleration for the graphics, the 3D acceleration on VM 8 and onwards uses a different method for the graphics. don't forget VM dose not use your hosts GPU so having a monster graphics cards does not make any difference.

You use 9th version or tested 7th version of VMWare? 1Gb ram, 1 cpu, 1 core works good.

i use ws7
I just made an interesting observation. My current client is running with 2 cpu and 2gb ram. Then I saw 1.95 gb ram are in use and then I changed it to 2.5 gb during operation eve and pilot. Then the ram has fallen to 900mb in use? Can someone explain that to me. I only see exefile 550MB and 150mb evepilot.
Setting
win7 64 host
tiny7 client downloadlink from slav
VM ware Workstation 7 downloadlink from slav
