Can i go to 0.5 - 0.8 with my hulk when it has T1 drones or do i realy need T2?

T2 drones are expensive. I use T1 drones only. But the drones must match the rats. Use Amarr drones for Amarr rats, use Gallente drones for Gallente rats. I am using 5 drones, 1 heavy, 1 medium, 3 light drones.

I do not deploy drones when I arrive at the belt but I have the ship set on Active Shield Tank so the drones are deployed when needed, helps keep me from losing drones.

Undock your hulk, turn on your hardeners, check the shield resistance for the rats primary damage. For me, the number is 81% and I am training in things to bring that number up higher. All of my hardeners are cheap T1 items, the only thing I use that is T2 are the strip miners.

I have my EWO set on 64% Shield and ELO set at 34% shield. The rats never knock my shields that low so if a human attacks me, the ship runs away a bit sooner. You should calculate the numbers that suit you best. The formula is somewhere on this forum.

Ok, and do you mostly mine more then one kind of minerals? or just one with T2 crystals?

what to do against those annoying guritas pirates who keep jamming? cant even target them to sent drones :<

Depends.

1. My retriever stays in a crowded 0.7 system so he is mining two different ores with T1 miners.
2. My hulk is all alone in a 0.5 system with lots of rocks so he mines only one thing at a time using T2 miners with crystals.

I do not always mine the most profitable ore, I tend to mine what I need for my factories. The exception is Omber/Isogen. I never mine Omber and I always buy Isogen from some other place. The Eve Pilot Deliverer makes it easy to move large quantities.

Long before I started mining, i was into PvP so some of skills for combat may be a bit high for a miner. I actually like the ships that do the jamming because it gives my drones a head start. i usually get a fast lock on the rats and only rarely do i lose the lock. Sounds like you may need to spend some time research new skills to learn. Think of them as survival skills.
