VMManager

VMManager is a program to start or stop VMWare virtual machines running in background. VMManager works on host machine.

On the right side you see a tree of virtual machine groups. Each group has virtual machines attached. Each virtual machine has worktime defined once you add this machine to a group. VMManager start then stop virtual machines in each group consequentially (only one vm from a group is runing at the same time). Whereas each activated group is started parallel, so the number of running virtual machines is equal to the number of activated groups.

To add virtual machine to a group select group, add path to vmx file of virtual machine, define VM Name (to be shown in a tree) and worktime of this machine. Then click ADD button. To delete VM from a group, select VM and click DEL.

Close Workstation and start VMs in background prevents VMWare Workstation Interface to be loaded every time when new VM is started. If you tick/untick this, restart VMManager to take effect.

Autostart - Used to start all Virtual Machines on VMManager start with previous settings

Switch to Timers - to old VMManager version where you define start/stop times for each VM explicitly. Not recommended to use as you may accidentally start more VMs then can be loaded into RAM or start several VMs at the same time which may degrade performance of all running machines.

To use VMManager tick 'Keep VMs runnung after Workstation closes':

If VMManager fails to start VM, open VMManager.exe properties and in compatibility tab tick start as admin.

To start bot automatically when VM is started setup VM as per manual
