So I've set up VMWare exactly as in the Knowledge Base article, other than the proxy, and EVE itself is extremely laggy, to the point where EvE Pilot cannot complete the First Run. When it tries, it has major lag and cannot click some of the options as it lags so much.

Can anyone offer any help? I've tried giving the VM 2GB RAM, and even 2 Cores of the CPU. But to no avail.

I run it from a 7200RPM HDD, would this be the bottleneck, or is it just the VMWare graphics drivers being absolute shit?

EDIT 2: Force downgrading to VMWARE 7, Instead of VMWARE 12 (installation) seems to be much less laggier, to the point where EvE Pilot can actually click things, will report on how well this works.

This might be VMWare Tools problem. I has no problem with VM11 version if VMs are created in 7x version compatibility mode.

Also, might be a ram or a cpu issue on your machine.

So the problem seemed to be VMWare 12.

I installed VMWare 7, and opened the exact same VM as I opened in 12, and it worked flawlessly, no installing or reinstalling of anything needed. I wasn't bottlenecking CPU, RAM, or HDD, it just seemed to be VMWare 12.

I am now successfully running 3 VMs, with more RAM and a new SSD on the way to run a few more...

Hooray.

In short: Don't install VMWare 12, it's utter shit. Stay on 7.
