I am so unlucky this week I lost 2 exhumers due to those FOB. I know that bot checks every start for FOB and you have the option to avoid NPC, but sometimes these guys are so aggressive that you do not have the time to warp out.

Do we know how often they change systems and what time?

That been said, I was wondering if there could be an option to check for FOB every period (or customize timer), while bot miner is running. Wouldn't this safe the day once in a while?

I can ask bot to check for forward base every visit to station, but I am not sure if the agency window updated fast enough to see pirates in current system. It did not do this for triglavians for example. Does forward base NPC so powerfull so you cannot tank them while warping out? These NPC may warp scramble, did you try to fit warp stab? When I tested bot in zeroes I found this is good idea to fit warp stab, besides if you really unlucky your ship may avoid combat most of the time.

I thought FOB's only spawned after DT ? Never had one spawn during play

They spawn any time. I have lost ships to them that I personally witnessed the bot check for them when I started it, and then later that day I checked the bot and I was in a capsule. I quit mining in an Orca because of this very thing. Much easier to replace a Skiff.
