Hyper-V Guide for install 7 г., 11 мес. назад Репутация: 0
After working with EvePilot on Windows 10 and MS Hyper-V, I've come up with a guide for installation of EvePilot VM's on Windows 10 Hyper-V.

Test machine specs:
CPU - Intel Core i5-2400 (Quad-Core, no HT, 3.10GHz base, 3.40GHz max)
RAM - 24GB
OS Drive - Samsung 850 Evo SSD 250GB
Storage/VM Drive - Western Digital Black 1TB (7200rpm, Sata 6Gbps, 64MB Cache)
Video - NVIDIA Geforce 560 GTX (1GB 256-Bit GDDR5)
Windows 10 Professional v1607

Special Considerations:
You MUST have a Video Card/GPU that supports RemoteFX for this to work.

I've been able to run 6 VMs with EvePilot and the Eve Client active on this system at the same time with minimal lag - enough to see, but not enough that the EvePilot application stutters, mis-clicks, or closes the Eve client window on failure. CPU utilization on the host maintains at approximately 85-90% load with all 6 running. Your mileage may vary.

I've attempted to attach the guide in PDF and MS Word formats, but the forum doesn't seem to allow them.

It sounds like your video card with RemoteFX isn't helping the VMs... I get the same CPU load running 6 VMs on my Win10 Pro system with an i5. As of the last time I checked, about a month ago, GPUs that can render VM graphics can only apply to one VM, which is kind of useless to us. You can verify this by running an app that shows GPU usage while the host doesn't have eve or anything else rendering on the host. I look forward to the day when GPUs can work with multiple VMs at the same time, as it will likely double the number of VMs that can be on a computer. Until then, our number of bots seem to be bound to the CPU power.

I'd be interested in seeing the guide - I've had no luck with VMware and ran out of patience after a couple of full on days with trying different versions, BIOS settings etc.

Anyway to set up and link a public DropBox? Or could you pm me the .pdf and I'll try and figure something out in return?

Thanks a lot for the guide, but I think it will not work with Win7 guests, at least I was not able to get it to fly.
Win7 needs at least to be SP1 to able to run RDP 8, which is a prereq for RemoteFX, so Slavs old win7tiny iso will not do it..

Also with my up to date win7 Pro installation I was not able to use RemoteFX, which lead to the effect that the Eve Clint did not run in the guest OS. Also you need enable RemoteFX as per group policy on a Win7 guest, whih I found, but did not help to have the guest detect the GPU.

I then tried to upgrade my Win7Pro to Win10, and suddenly all was working as expected. As in this process I learned that Win10 licenses can be bought for as less as 5 Euro, I have bought some Win 10 licenses and I am now in the process of migrating all my bots to Win10 (I had this in mind for quite some time).

What is working:
Bots are running Win10pro 64 bit, generation 2, Hyper-V VMs. Eve and EvePilot are running in the bots.
Host has 32G of memory and an Intel I5 CPU with 4 cores, no HT, GPU is a Radeon R9 200, each bot consumes about 20% of load of the GPU, CPU is not an issue. Host OS is also Win10Pro.

Yes, my impression is too that VMware VMs were a little more effective in GPU ressources.
