Fleet Mode

These settings will enable or disable fleet mode for eve pilot. To enable fleet mode tick 'Enable Fleet Mode' checkbox and select role of a commander, who creates fleet, or member who will join existing fleet. Fleet commander uses Fleet Properties to set required parameters to a fleet.

Fleet Properties:

Fleet Name and Fleet Description - optional parameters. Fleet members may search for a fleet by visible string defined in the name or description of a fleet.

Two types of a fleets available in game: corporation fleets and fleets based on standing. If you want to create a fleet and invite characters from different corporations you should enable Based On Standing option. Otherwise enable My Corporation option.

'My Corporation' fleet may have additional filter to restrict members with neutral standing (from the point of view of a fleet commander) join the fleet. Tick Min. Standing checkbox and define what minimal standing (Good or Excellent) fleet member must have to be invited to a fleet.

The same way works Based On Standing option, but you invite members with good or excellent standing to a fleet commander only.

Fleet Finder Options:

To find correct fleet, fleet member uses fleet finder window.

Scope drop down menu used to filter fleet by type. Four types are available: All Available Fleets, My Corp Fleets, My Ally Fleets and Based On Standing Fleets. You should select My Corp Fleet or Based On Standing Fleet depending on the fleet type ceated by fleet commander. Also if your corporation is a member of an alliance, tick My Ally Scope Present checkbox.

Range drop down box has four selections: Any range, 5 jumps, 10 jumps and region. If you mine in the same system but have several fleets in corporation you can use 5 jumps range to make sure that your own fleet is visible in search results.

Min. Standing drop down box is used if you want to find fleet based on standing. Selections include any standing (disabled), good and excellent standings.

It is possible, that fleet finder will have several fleets in search results. To join correct fleet, fleet member should use Search Fleet By String option. Try to select a word which present in the name or in the description of a fleet with at least 4 letters and which contains only a-z, A-Z and 0-9 characters and space. The search is performed by OCR and those leters and numbers tested better then other symbols.

Fleet Creation Principles:

When fleet commander and fleet member started from the same computer, they know about presence of each other and may wait at station or POS while fleet is formed and at least one member joined fleet. Use 'Force Wait Fleet' option and define a time in seconds each client must wait before continue if fleet creation delayed by some reason. Fleets are checked every station/POS visit, so if fleet commander lost connection to eve, fleet will be recreated when members visit station for the next time. There is a special case is if you use jettison containers. In order to maintain fleets each member should visit station or POS from time to time. Define maximal time in belt to tune frequency of station/POS visits and fleet checks.

Fleet commander and members may be started from different computers. This way they dont know about presence of each other and will check fleet one time during login. If fleet commander DC-ed, fleet members will stay in the old fleet. Use external directory path to define a drive (mapped shared folder) shared between several computers: Shared Settings->Error Corrections->External Vars Directory

Next info is outdated after bonus distribution changes: One fleet may contain as miners, as booster and looter. Example 2 in looter's manual is showing how to use ORCA or industrial ship and miners in the same fleet. Looter is transporing ore to station or POS and in the case of OCRA @ POS setup is distributing fleet bonuses at the same time. If you want to use station to unload ore, better to use stand alone looter to transport ore and unload it to the station.
