This first time tutorial does not contain detailed information but provides a quick tutorial for first time users.

• Installation instructions.
  • The prerequisites to install the program are:
    • Windows 10 with .Net framework 4.5.2 or above. If the program doesn't start and gives an error that a dll is missing try to update to .Net 4.5.2
    • Advanced videocard settings like hardware antialiasing (FXAA mode), gamma correction and text shadows may lead to a fail and should be disabled. Those settings are located in NVIDIA control panel -> 3D settings.
    • Check system requirements of the bot
  • Download the most recent version of EVE Pilot and install it.
• Preparing your EVE Online account and EVE Launcher.
  • Install/update EVE Online. The latest version of EVE Pilot is compatible with latest EVE Online version. Login to eve online account via STEAM is not supported, check this article how to generate regular username.
  • Add account to eve launcher, make sure you can start account manually and disabled/finished tutorials i game. Disable two factor authentication if used. You can add several accounts to eve launcher.
  • Bot will erase your current in-game settings as it uses profile with name "Default". Profile is a slot with game settings. If necessary, open account settings and create new profile used with bot:

    

  • Swich EVE Launcher to compact mode (reduce eve launcher width with mouse) and position it on desktop to not hover task bar. If you have several monitors use primary display:
    

    

     

  • If you docked to station, better to not use Jita 4-4 Caldari Navy Assembly Plant station for first run.
  • For miner: fit your ship, add drones, make bookmarks, then leave your character in the system near/inside of a station or POS. Dont leave your pilot in belt during first run because first run does not monitor HP status and your ship may be killed by NPC during first run. Please read instruction how to setup bookmarks correctly if you want to use your own bookmarks or delete all green bookmarks in the system before doing first run. Without bookmarks, bot will use top station when sorted by name.
  • For courier: Please remove drones from your ship, if present.
• Your computer settings (standard fail safe settings).
  • Windows 10 with standard windows theme. Display scaling is set to 100%. If you use windows 11, font size is also set to 100%.
  • If you have windows activation watermark you may need to pause bot during first run and move eve client from this watermark to the left. Try to activate windows using this method
  • Set the resolution of your display to properly fit eve online window when eve is started with 1024*768 resolution, windowed mode. If you have to use 1024*768  desktop resolution (some notebooks), relocate taskbar to the right side of your monitor. Unlock it and use drag-n-drop. The taskbar should not overlap bottom of EVE client window. Lower desktop resolutions not supported.
  • Set your default system language to be English and USA/QWERTY keyboard. Default language is a keyboard setting, it is not your windows UI language. In very rare cases you may need to delete non english languages from the system. If you use not standard keyboard you may need to edit used shortcuts combo for your keyboard.
  • Remove gadgets or widgets from your desktop, disable any popup windows (ICQ, autoupdaters). Nothing should popup or overlap the EVE Online window during work. As a fail safe measure close or minimize all windows to clean desktop before bot start.
  • Please check what third party programs are conflicting with eve pilot in system requirements.
• Start EVE Pilot.

• Enter your eve account login to "User Name" field
• Enter position of your account in eve launcher (1-10, from top to bottom) and position of your character ('Main', 'Second','Third').
• Leave profile "Default", besides if you edited profile name in eve launcher before. 
• Select the function of EVE Pilot you require from drop down menu in the "Select Client and Function" (currently selected is EVEMiner).
• Click the First Run button to start initializing the in-game settings. Please don't touch your keyboard or mouse during the first run. Also choose an appropriate time for the first run, if downtime is nearing it is better to wait until downtime has finished. During first run, bot will restart eve several times. This is OK. Duration of the first run is about 30 minutes.
• After first run is complete you will get message box with serial number of your account. The serial number is fingerprint of your account and is used to generate a license and bind license to eve account. Serial cannot be used to locate your bot or steal your license. Correct serial contains hexadecimal uppercase digits (0123456789ABCDEF) devided into 6 groups by 4 digits with hyphen-minus (-).

• The serial number is automatically copied to clipboard. You don't need to copy it again from message box. Just paste it to a text file for future use. Remove leading/trailing spaces after copying if necessary.
• Check the Activate Client (Autostart) checkbox.
• You can now click Continue button and EVE Pilot start with the default settings.
• Instructions to change the default settings specific for each function on EVE Pilot is available in the corresponding section of the manual
• As a rule you should redo first with if you switch function: EVE Miner->Courier. Different functions use different in-game settings.
• If your trial license is expired and you cannot start bot anymore, download dummy license, unpack it to program directory where you installed bot and remove trial license. Dummy license will allow to start bot and complete first run only.
