Hi, im just following your guide to setup VMware, so far i got it to work, load up windows etc, but now when i try to change the cpuid according to the guide, its not working, it still get the id of my real CPU. i did exactly as shown on guide but no go! What could it be?

I have got the same problem. VM does not recognize changes in config file. Is any solutions?

make sure that u editing "CurrentControlSet"
i have failed that atleast twice before understanding why its not changing

Dont forget to restart guest OS after the change in registry or in vmx-file. CPUID may be checked via test stand (find a button system info)
