Tried this function out .. it does not work fast enough .. lost two ships first two attempts

Warps to site .. launches drones .. clicks afterburner .. by this time ship is already in hull

I have it set to orbit attacking npc and such

Nope, need to orbit structure/asteroid. This way bot start orbitting first found object before anything else. Check that you select anomalyhunterspeedtank algorithm. This algo has fast orbitting procedure only.
