The code I posted does nothing without the near 1,000 lines of code that it uses, which is in beta. At the moment, I'm having trouble gauging its efficiency because of a some inconsistencies I haven't isolated in EP or my code. Even on a new roid field, the scanner seems to be vastly superior. (Slav, I checked and the ore m3 didn't change in the recent null ore revamp.)
My code is also horribly inefficient, as it takes a full second to find the drone window each time it is called. Although I just figured out how to get that down to 100 ms.
Slav, I'd like to contribute. How can I help?

Okay, I think I figured it out. The problem is that (high-sec) the drones aren't getting their final cycles in because, like mining lasers, only truly remove the ore from the roid once they complete a cycle or are turned off. So I manually set the lasers to have the additional m3 harvested by the drones, but then have to back it off because it doesn't know when the lasers have been turned off. Slav, do you think it would be helpful to check the first white pixel underneath the lasers to see that it has been turned off and then return the drones to orbit? Not sure if it is worth it because I don't know if the mining module immediately locks a new roid, which would mean EP would see that the roid didn't disappear and start mining it again (bad, although my module does turn it off about 10 seconds after my drones idle).
Slav, looking back at something you said, drones only mine the roid you assign them to mine. Once that roid pops, they idle and don't choose something else to mine. It sounded like you think differently, so I wanted to clarify. Incidentally, it is even possible to make them mine a roid that is no longer target locked. Once you unlock it, they keep mining it until they pop it. Not sure if this is useful info for you, but you never truly know what is most useful others. Thank you for your kind replay! I think you guys are amazing... I'm a Attorney at Law, so, no advanced math, but I'm very curious and I can learn how to test and help in anything I can!
Best Regards!

Seriously Slav, without incorporation into the m3 per second calculations, my drone module is a lot less efficient than it could be... So how can I help?

Drone support is not so easy to make properly in meantime. Check how frequently I change test version. That means I work on other things now.
