so i liked how i could have 2 copy's of SM for the one character, to separate my ORE mining settings and my ICE mining settings. is there a way to do something similar in EM?

Obviously, my ICE collecter has different settings to my ROID miner, but remembering to change all different settings is... problematic for me!
could we have "Per Character" or "Per Client", more than 1 customisable profile so if i need to all of a sudden switch out to mining ICE from ROIDS, all i have to do is switch profiles.

Yes, just set up another client for the same character with different settings, don't forget to also attach the same license to the other client number.

i tried a copy+paste of the EM files to another directory, but whenever i changed settings there, it changed them for both copy's of EM i had (single license).

DarkEden, you dont need to make clones of EVE Miner installation. EVE Miner has slots for settings - Clients.
First client is client0, second is client1 etc. We have 10 slots and you can use 10 different characters or 10 different setups of one character, this doesnt matter. In the case of the same character you should add the same license to several slots-clients. If you made client0 as a ore miner and client1 as ice miner you should switch between them to start only one client at a time. You can do this with Client->Set Autostart.

If we could use the above method and have the miner switch ships, ..that way you could mine for a certain amount of time have the mining ship return to home base and have the timer take your miner offline.. then using a timer login client 2 switch ships and go along you route with deliverer getting all you ore and bringing it back to your home base.
