I updated to the latest version, and now I am having this problem, not sure how to resolve it.

The exact error is

Could not connect to the server, retry?

This is network problem. I did not change anything in the way how program connects to the server

Very strange, because I can connect to the web and I am online, I never had an issue with the application giving me this error before. Any suggestions on how to go about fixing it?

I have no ideas what it cannot be. One guy told that he fixed error with reinstallation of the windows, another when he removed wireless USB adapter. Both of these "fixes" were probably connected to internet settings.

Hey, I think I fixed it, I went into windows firewall, made eveminer an exemption, and than I downloaded the zip file and created a new folder, and dumped it in there, and than I ran the application from the folder and deleted the installer desktop launch icons. It seems to work from the folder now. I also removed Zone Alarm and made sure windows was using default firewall.

Just received the same error and had hard times to solve it, but fixed. The problem was in google chrome's proxy settings. If you set proxy settings in google chrome, google chrome believe that it is a part of windows control panel and change systems proxy settings in registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\
If proxy settings defined here is wrong, several programs including eve miner cannot connect to the server.
Program like FireFox use its own settings that is why one can open site with browser and cannot connect to the server with program.
