Want to add another tip. Dont transfer money to trial account, use timecode to activate eve subscription. If you did, dont bot with this account for two days. Transactions to trial accounts are monitored. If you are botting and GM is looking at your account, you may get unexpected ban.

Bugger wish i had read that first lol !
I would like to say that after 10 years of playing eve going to several meets in Iceland and around my country and basically doing everything to death in the game, I use the bots for a simple reason , to make enough isk to buy Plexs and I have never RTM'd. I have used bots for about 4 years I even made my own simple mining macro bot . I don't mine more tha 6 hours a day on any account or more than 5 days a week. I also mine low ends in a high sec using 5 - 6 systems. Each player is in a different system. I build ships with he mins and trade them on the market. If CCP was to ban me the only thing I would miss is the social side of shooting the shit with my long term buddy's on the weekends, other than that I couldn't care less.
My biggest tip - don't be greedy and the pay CCP what they deserve for making the game, PLEx's

will using VM help avoid ban? since it looks like a networked computer instead of the same computer, if running multiple clientsIf you are talking about massban, I think yes. Starting several bots from different VMWare should help. Follow simple rule: if you can start two trial accounts - they are separated. Also look what values going to eve server:

The less info you share between your vmware-s the better. You may change account login and computer name, version of the OS (at lest dont clone machines, install from scratch), customize some settings in first run wizard to not look like a clone.
Here is a link how to change videocard name. Standard vmware videocard name (VMware SVGA 3D (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM)) should be changed.

You will link bots this way. If you dont want to pay with real money to activate your trial, you may transfer character with 1 plex to trial account (dont know if it is possible to transfer characters to trial accounts although). This "transaction" will not link your accounts, because no money transaction will be visible in any logs. But you will pay 3 plexs instead of one.
