I use VirtualBox for my VM's and Windows 10. Recently I had a persistant porblme with flickering and texture stretching. Brought about via a windows update.

I did some tweaking and found that reducing the video ram to 64Mb and setting directx 9 was a significant improvement. Eve reduces the textures and polygons to 90's levels of graphics. It improves FPS and stops flickering.

So if you're on VirtualBox and have this problem then the solution, counter intuitively, is less video ram.

Mind if i ask what os you are running in the VM?
I havn't tried with Virtualbox yet, only vmware.
